This past Monday was a gorgeous day up here in Seattle. I mean it was actually warm to us. (I don't know if you consider 45 degrees and sunny, warm, but we do right now.) Anyways, we packed up the crew and headed over to Deception Pass on Whidbey Island. It was a great little getaway since we never got our little day trips done over Christmas due to the snow. The kids loved the beaches we saw and all of the small little towns we drove through were quite charming. A few times, it felt like we could actually be in a different country surrounded by pastures and water. The cutest part about the trip was on our way home when we decided to take the ferry across the water home. Alexis was so convinced that she was going to see an actual "fairy," that she kicked and screamed when we went to put her back in the car. She was sad because in her mind she hadn't seen the "fairy" that she was so apparently looking forward to. Ethan was so kind and patient. He tried to explain the difference to her but nothing was really soothing her sobs so we proceeded to drive home amidst tears and fairies. If I had only known, we would have called the ferry a boat.
yay for blogging!!! i can't wait to keep up with you and your adorable family a little more. alexis and her fairy wishes made me laugh out loud.
